SHOWCASE STEPS OUT AND MAKES A POINT
Trinity Youth held a very successful two week activity workshop during August this year. Aimed at introducing teenagers to dance, drama and vocal training 25 young people signed up and took a full part in an intensive daily programme from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Through this everyone was able to learn new styles and to begin to develop new skills.
Everything was brought together in a glittering SHOWCASE evening when talents were on display before an audience of 150 who clapped and cheered throughout the presentation.
Amongst those present was the teenage pregnancy co-ordinator for Enfield. She was full of appreciation for the whole event and particularly the music and dance drama written, composed and presented by the trinity teenagers. This addressed the issues of teenage pregnancy, gun crime and peer pressure.
Trinity Youth have been encouraged to expand and develop the music and dance drama concept on the same themes with a view to creating a mobile theatre to take the message in and around the London Borough of Enfield.
Trinity Youth continues to offer drop in facilities and training sessions for dance and vocal training on a weekly basis. For more details phone the church office: 020 8888 2797 and ask for Edward Nkwelle or Chinique Blackwood.
