The Enfield Caribbean Association is an independent voluntary organisation operating in the London Borough of Enfield, since 1985. It is a registered charity. No 1064045/0.

Aims:

The association aims to advance the interests of Caribbean people in the areas of education, health, employment, social welfare and wellbeing by providing facilities and an environment that contributes to improving the life chances of people through promotion of events, activities and developing links with other like minded groups, individuals and organisations.

Objectives:

To develop an information and advice service and take practical measures that meet the needs of people of Caribbean culture in the London Borough of Enfield in the areas of education, health, employment and social welfare through direct and indirect action.

Services Provided By ECA:

The association aims to advance the interests of Caribbean people in the areas of education, heaServices provided include: General Advice and referral, Education Support and social and cultural activities. ECA’s office is open Monday and Tuesday – 10.00am to 5.00pm, Thursday and Friday – 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Meetings:

The Caribbean Lunch Club meets at TaB Centre Plus which is on the corner of Palmerston Road and the North Circular Road, Palmers Green, on Fridays from 1pm to 4pm. It provides a healthy lunch, exercise, table games and other social activities as well as personal advice.

Education Support:

We hold after school sessions during term time to help with Maths and English at Key Stages 1 to 4.

We run workshops for parents in Mathematics and English to inform them how children are taught in school, show suitable materials and make suggestions as to how to use them at home, explain how the school system works and how to get the best out of it for their children.

How can you help ECA to help you, your parents, friends and your family?

  1. Become an individual member, subscription £10 annually
  2. Join with your family (household) £20 annually
  3. Donate £10 per month through standing order with your bank.
  4. Become a sponsor
  5. Become a volunteer
  6. If you have a special skill, give 2 hours per month to ECA
  7. Keep yourself informed by attending ECA quarterly meetings
  8. Get involved in one of the sub committees
  9. Join the parents workshops
  10. Join the Executive
