Pastoral Care
Why We Care:
A healthy Christian community is one in which people know that they are loved, visitors are welcome and young and old alike are valued and feel safe. The care that we offer, both at times of crisis and in everyday life is an active proclamation of God’s love in Christ and for all the world.
Safeguarding:
TaB is very keen on ensuring everyone is properly cared for. It makes efforts meeting the physical and spiritual needs of everyone whithin its reach. In doing so, it recognises that adults, children and young people have specific needs. The Church strcitly adhers to highest standards Safeguarding - which is about preventing the abuse of children and young people and promoting their welfare. How do we best care for one another and for the communities we live in? These Pastoral Care pages offer articles, links and resources for those involved in caring in all sorts of ways in the life of our churches and neighbourhoods.
A training resource for pastoral visitors and all who offer care in the church and community is available. For details and how to obtain information on pastoral care training resources, please go to: Pastoral Care Training

TaB Women’s Fellowship
We are a group of ladies who meet in a friendly and informal manner on Monday afternoons for an hour of fellowship, worship and mutual support.
We begin with refreshments and continue with a short devotional service of hymns, prayers and readings. Some afternoons a visiting speaker gives a short talk on a subject of interest. This might be an exposition of a Bible passage or a sharing of their Christian experience or they may even represent a charity or talk about their hobby.
The Women's Fellowship is part of the Women's Network of the Methodist Church and is open to all, whether or not they have any other links with our church. It aims to encourage, enable and equip women to participate fully in the life of the church and in society.
Mondays: 2:15pm – 3:30pm (Unless otherwise stated)

The Wesley's Guild
About Us:
The Wesley Guild was initially established by the Methodist Church over 100 years ago. Its membership has now embraced a wide age group drawn from many denominations.
Today, the Wesley Guild is a mid-week fellowship for men and women of all ages, meeting at weekly, fortnightly or monthly intervals with a programme of diverse interests, devotional, cultural, Christian service and social.
Motto:
The Guild motto reminds us that the faith we have in our hearts must be translated into action in our lives. How hard we sometimes find that, as did St Paul. In his letter to the Romans, he describes the struggle between his good intentions and his failure to live up to them. He asked: 'Who will deliver me?' His answer: 'Jesus Christ'. How? If we accept him into our lives, he will equip us to truly be of one heart and one way. The Guild motto encapsulates what the Lord does for those who accept the Gospel.
I will bring them back and make then dwell in safety. I will give them one heart and one way (RSV: Jer 32 v 38)
The NIV translates that last sentence in this way:
I will give them singleness of heart and action.
Objectives:
The Wesley Guild is part of the social and caring life of the Church:
- to promote open and honest discussion of the meaning of the Christian faith in today’s world;
- to broaden the cultural horizons of its members for the enrichment of life;
- to be a caring fellowship for its members;
- to be a point of contact with Christianity for people to develop their own patterns of devotion to Christ
- to encourage an interest in the local community;
- to support care projects locally, nationally and overseas.
